Thieves Haul Off At Least 8-Thousand Pounds of Railroad Track – Action 3 News – Omaha, Nebraska News, Weather, and Sports |

Seriously, what are you going to do with 8,000 lbs of train tracks?

The metal recyclers meant just be own to you after the 1,201st lb.

Omaha, NE – Night after night the thieves loaded up the steel spikes, plates and bars.

Their eventual haul: 8-thousand pounds, intended for new railroad tracks.

The thefts happened at the abandoned railroad tracks between 13th snd 15th Streets, Nicholas to Locust. Owner National Salvage reported the steel, which was stolen over a period of eight days, was supposed to go to make new tracks.

No word on how the thief or thieves transported the hefty loads, or where they may have ended up.

No arrests have been made.
