Robert Nelson: No bake sales?

Here comes the Abominable Federal Regulator to smash up our fine holiday scene.

You may have read recently about Congress passing a nutrition bill that gives a federal agency the power to limit bake sales and other school-sponsored fundraisers in which foods deemed unhealthy are sold.

I was overwhelmed with conflicting emotions at the news:

Wait, a federal law on brownies? What in the name of Ronald Reagan is going on? Brownie fundraisers are as American as apple pies, which also could be deemed too unhealthy to sell.

Then again: No more baking brownies every couple weeks? I hear mothers and better fathers everywhere cheering.
