H. R. 32 To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide criminal penalties for trafficking in counterfeit marks. Shouldn’t this already have been a crime? Lee Terry co-sponsored this bill. There is no reason to write to him about this bill, it is just interesting that it is not already a penalties for it.

H. R. 4833 was referred to the Subcommittee on Economic Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Cybersecurity. This is a good move, it means the bill will not be totally dead yet. It may come up for discussion.

H. R. 4840 To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to establish requirements for appointment of the Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and for other purposes. uh, duh.

H. R. 4880 To direct the Commandant of the Coast Guard to require that a security plan for a maritime facility be resubmitted for approval upon transfer of ownership or operation of such facility, and for other purposes.
H. R. 4881 To promote the national defense by establishing requirements for the ownership, management, and operation of critical infrastructure in the United States, and for other purposes.
Both of these bills relate to the security of the US Port system.

H.R. 4883 To provide justice for crime victims’ families, and for other purposes. I have not had one of these, but you never know.

H. R. 4885 To amend the Defense Production Act of 1950 to prohibit acquisitions, mergers, or takeovers of persons engaged in interstate commerce in the United States by entities controlled by or acting on behalf of foreign governments that do not recognize countries that are member states of the United Nations, participate in boycotts against countries that are friendly to the United States, or provide support for international terrorism. This is a proactive stance, so the Dubai port deal will not happen again.

H. R. 4889 To grant the power to the President to reduce budget authority. OH HELL NO. This is why the president presents the budget to congress. Congress approves it, or doesn’t. None of this writing your check and cashing it too. If it makes it out of committee, zing.

Res. 641: Requesting the President to provide to the House of Representatives certain documents in his possession relating to electronic surveillance without search warrants on individuals in the United States. made it to the House Calendar No. 152. Lee Terry did not co-sponsor or sponsor this bill. I will be writing him a letter about this bill. It was introduced 12/18/2005, before I started watching.

H. Res. 645 : Requesting the President and directing the Secretary of Defense to transmit to the House of Representatives all information in the possession of the President or the Secretary of Defense relating to the collection of intelligence information pertaining to persons inside the United States without obtaining court-ordered warrants authorizing the collection of such information and relating to the policy of the United States with respect to the gathering of counterterrorism intelligence within the United States, made it to the House Calendar No. 151. Lee Terry did not co-sponsor or sponsor this bill. I will be writing him a letter about this bill. It was introduced 12/22/05, before I started watching.
