S. 2253 A bill to require the Secretary of the Interior to offer the 181 Area of the Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas leasing. This is stupid, why not take that money and invest it in Wind/Solar Power. This is up for a hearing in the commitee.

S. 2280 A bill to stop transactions which operate to promote fraud, risk, and under-development, and for other purposes.  This is a very intresting bill.  I don’t think it will pass though.

S. 2283 A bill to establish a congressional commemorative medal for organ donors and their families.  I am a registered organ donor, everyone should be.  There is no reason to have them buried with you.

H.R. 4752 To provide for the common defense by requiring all persons in theUnited States, including women, between the ages of 18 and 42 toperform a period of military service or a period of civilian service infurtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and forother purposes. Holy Shit, that is fucking wrong. This one better die in comitee.

S. Res. 372 A resolution expressing the sense of the Senate that oil and gascompanies should not be provided outer Continental Shelf royalty reliefwhen energy prices are at historic highs. Yeah that is going to happen, lol.

Okay, I made it to 9/10 posts.  That would be like over a week if it was a self improvment resoulution.  How long have you made it?

Refer to Update 9 or 10, for an update on Ben Nelson
Lee Terry introduced 0 bills, gave 0 speeches this week.  But he voted Aye on H. Res. 670, and H. Res. 657.  Nothing significant about either one of those bills.
Chuck Hagel introduced 0 bills, gave 0 speeches this week.

S.2262 : A bill to provide that pay may not be disbursed to Members of Congress after October 1 of any fiscal year in which all appropriations acts are not passed by Congress, and for other purposes.  Good bill, I figure if they can’t get our money probably distrubuted, they shouldn’t get paid

S.2263 : A bill to amend title 49, United States Code, to require that automobiles and light trucks manufactured after model year 2007 be able to operate on a fuel mixture that is at least 85 percent ethanol, and for other purposes.  A reasonable alternative fuel bill, DOA

H.J.RES.77 : Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to authorize the President to reduce or disapprove any appropriation or authorization of new direct spending in any bill presented by Congress.  Sounds like a line item veto.

H.R.2791 : To amend title 35, United States Code, with respect to patent fees, and for other purposes. I hope this is a decrease versus an increase.  But would the goverment every let you do things cheaper.

H.R.3729 : To provide emergency authority to delay or toll judicial proceedings in United States district and circuit courts.  You remember that president Tricky Dick?  This sounds like his kind of an action, what is a ’emergency’ situation?

H.R.4709 : To amend title 18, United States Code, to strengthen protections for law enforcement officers and the public by providing criminal penalties for the fraudulent acquisition or unauthorized disclosure of phone records.  Soiunds to me like the illegal wire tapping, can still go on.  But they will get a harder slap on the wrist.

H.R.4724 : To establish requirements with respect to the transfer of oil to or from an onshore or offshore facility, or a vessel with a capacity of over 250 barrels in United States waters, and for other purposes.  Shouldn’t this law already been in effect?

H.R.4731 : To require owners of Internet websites to destroy obsolete data containing personal information.  This sounds like a good idea, but I do not like this guy.  He has been trying to push bad roller coaster legislation.

H.R. 4706  To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to deny any deduction for certain gifts and benefits provided to physicians by prescription drug manufacturers.  Seems like a good bill, it will keep things from happening like Vioxx, if it passes.

S. 2249: A bill to eliminate the requirement that States collect Social Security numbers from applicants for recreational licenses. That is a no brainer.

S. 2251: A bill to amend the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to repeal the ultra-deepwater and unconventional onshore natural gas and other petroleum research and development program.  A good way to clean up our water.

I am only going to let you know if there are only action on the bills I am watching.  Makes my NYR easier.  But if anybody actually read this and feels left out, let me know.  I am not talking about that SS or NSA agent.

Letter to Senators of NE

H.R. 4659. You voted to pass an extension on this. On/Before March 10th I urge you to vote against renewing the Patriot Act. It is eroding away at our civil liberties. Please vote no on any extensions or renewal of this Act.
