Twirlers Disciplined Over Suggestive Song At Pep Rally

DALLAS —

Three girls were disciplined for playing a suggestive song at a North Texas high school pep rally, school administrators said.

The girls, who are on the twirl team, were disciplined after playing Katy Perry‘s song “I Kissed A Girl” at a pep rally at Van High School in Van Zandt County.

The song’s lyrics, which are performed by a woman, say, “I kissed a girl, and I liked it.”

Jordan Downey, one of the girls who was disciplined, said she didn’t think the school would care about the song.

They told us that it probably won’t be a very good a idea, and then we decided, like, it’s not a big deal, we’ll just run for it, no one’s going to care,” she said. Continue reading “Twirlers Disciplined Over Suggestive Song At Pep Rally”

My fault

Angry telemarketer calls back, berates man after he hangs up

AUSTIN, TX (NBC) – Randall Whited got quite a surprise when he recently hung up on a telemarketer.  The telemarketer called the Austin, Texas resident back and unleashed a tirade of verbal abuse.

“If you don’t want to get contacted if somebody wins, then don’t put your name in it.  That was just such a girl thing to do. Wimp,” the telemarketer yelled.

“I just couldn’t believe that, that would be tolerated in the work place. The message was pretty offensive to me,” Whited said.

So far he’s had no luck getting any response from the caller’s supervisors.

“Someone that I spoke with said that it might have been her 400th hang up and she was just frustrated herself but that’s not my fault,” Whited said.  “I plan on taking it to the fullest extent that I can possibly take it to so that these kinds of things don’t happen to other people.”

Whited says the Attorney General’s office told him the company broke Federal Trade Commission regulations by not releasing the information.
