Happy Tuesday

Today was Tuesday 12/28/V3.1.

48 days away from the big day.

Well I was up at 2 o’clock messing around.  Doing nothing productive, but this is America & if I want to do that I can.

Well I ‘finally’ broke down and got my outfit for New Years Eve celebration(s).  I’ve been thinking about it since Sunday, I know.

Well you’re just going to have to wait to see what it is, unless you are already on the inside.  OH look it’s NOT a secret.

How was your day?

My dinner was delicious.

have a GREAT & WACKY Wednesday.

$35 for You’ve Got Mail

Those Annoying Promotional CDs Cost AOL a Ton of Money

Those Annoying Promotional CDs Cost AOL a Ton of MoneyRemember those annoying promotional CDs that AOL distributed in the 1990s? It felt like they were everywhere and apparently they weren’t cheap either. In fact, things like those discs may have cost AOL “about $35 per user.”

This curious tidbit was revealed when someone inquired about the cost of the CDs on the popular question-and-answer site Quora. Steve Case, who was AOL’s CEO during the promotional disc era, chimed in with the information:

How much did it cost AOL to distribute all those CDs back in the 1990’s?

A lot! I don’t remember the total spending but do recall in the early 1990s our target was to spend 10% of lifetime revenue to get a new subscriber. At that time I believe the average subscriber life was about 25 months and revenue was about $350 so we spent about $35 to acquire [subscribers]. Continue reading “$35 for You’ve Got Mail”

hey Ladies

Why is it that sometimes you are ‘in relationships’ with other ladies on facebook.

When you are NOT homosexual?

Is that the cool thing to do?

Grilled BBQ Chicken Wraps

Tomorrow for dinner I’m having Grilled BBQ Chicken Wraps for dinner tomorrow.

I’m having a Burrito for lunch tomorrow.

Now I do NOT know what I’m having fro Breakfast.

YES I do know what clothes(50%) of what I’m wearing tomorrow.

Yes my life is pretty easy to plan out.  But I like the spontaneity, so someone surprise me.  no that was not the word of the day.

The word of the day was eschatoliogical, which means.  Regarding last, or final, matters, often of a theological nature.  WOW if that isn’t a lead in to Phrase of the Week Vol. 1 Week 33 I don’t know what is.

Follow these people on twitter.

Lottery winner using payout to feed hungry

Giving back

When Noles won that lottery money — about $6,800 after state and federal taxes — his first thought wasn’t to buy a car or make a big purchase. His first thought was to give back.

Noles will be feeding the homeless and hungry on New Year’s Day at the Salvation Army in Gastonia.

“This is something I always wanted to do,” Noles said. “I always said if I ever came into a good sum of money that I’d give back.”

Noles learned to give back from his mother, Ruth, who died in 2007. She was always helping others and passed that giving spirit along to her children.

Noles called on his family to help put a plan into action. His sister, Carolyn Payne, and Nancy Price and girlfriend Kimberly are helping him organize the “Hope for a Hopeless Day” hot dog and hamburger lunch. Noles hopes to feed 150 people and provide gift bags with gloves, caps, scarves and other cold-weather gear to give out to each family.

Blair Noles is a hero.
