I rob the post office in my momma’s van!!!

Omaha, NE – Just before 11am Monday, two robbers hold up the Florence Post Office at 2910 State Street. One customer says,"They’re in big serious trouble. They deserve to be."
A Postal Inspector investigating the crime, David Margritz says, "It’s a major federal offense to rob a postal facility ."
The two robbers arrive at the post office COD. Cash on demand. One has a gun. The other jumps the counter and grabs the money. Lt. Darci Tierney with Omaha Police says, "They did get away with money but as they were leaving, a witness got a good description of the vehicle and the license plate." Police ran the plates and the number came back to a home at 6730 Northridge. Police found the alleged getaway van parked in the driveway and two suspects inside.
With guns drawn, officers wait outside. The suspects surrender after an hour, without incident. Inspector Margritz says, "People like this are dangerous and they could rob someone else and may not end as well. We are happy to get them off the streets ." Lt. Tierney says, "This is a really good case where we had a witness give a good description and the license plate number really helped us out. We were able to come to the residence right away and it was a big help to us."
Post office customer Bob Fullerton says, "They’re a little bit stupid don’t you think, when you start messing around with federal government."
Investigators say you mess with the mail and the people who work in the post office… And you end up in prison. The sentence for robbing a post office is five to 25 years.
No one was hurt in the robbery. Postal employees are trained much like bank employees on how to stay safe in a hold up. Investigators recovered the stolen money.
