Got My Eye on You #29

Congressional Daily Digest for 4/5/06
Senate – 48 bills and 12 resolutions were introduced
House of Representatives – 21 bills and 8 resolutions were introduced
Damn they were busy

H. R. 5040 had Subcommittee Hearings.

H. R. 5049 had Introductory remarks on the issue. I originally said this was a bad idea, and stand behind that statement. The Text of this bill is really disturbing.

S. 2429 was Star Print ordered on the bill. A star print is a new, revised, and/or corrected version of a Congressional document. Its name comes from the star that is printed on the lower left-hand corner of the title page or cover. When a star print is released, it replaces the original version of the document.

S. 2508 A bill to authorize grants to carry out projects to provide education on preventing teen pregnancies, and for other purposes. Good bill, we need to educate American teenagers about this.

S. 2510 A bill to establish a national health program administered by the Office of Personnel Management to offer health benefits plans to individuals who are not Federal employees, and for other purposes. Do some Federal employees not get health care?

S. 2512 A bill to empower States with authority for most taxing and spending for highway programs and mass transit programs, and for other purposes.

S. 2553 A bill to require employees at a call center who either initiate or receive telephone calls to disclose the physical location of such employees, and for other purposes. I guess this is relating to outsourcing.

S. Con. Res. 87 A concurrent resolution expressing the sense of Congress that United States intellectual property rights must be protected globally.

H. R. 5092 To modernize and reform the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

H. R. 5095 To prohibit deceptive altering or disguising of caller identification on outbound telephone calls.

H. R. 5099 To provide disaster assistance to agricultural producers for crop and livestock losses, and for other purposes. That is the way farming is.
