Everyone gets a ‘2%’ pay raise

Our 111th Congress has decided to reduce the employee portion of Social Security Tax by 2%.  6.2% to 4.2%.  YES that means a 2% raise for you.

What does it mean for the Social Security Solvency, yeah.  2% less over the next year.  In 2012 the rate goes up by 2% at the minimum.  YES there is still a cap of $104,000.

Enjoy your pay raise.

Robert Nelson: No bake sales?

Robert Nelson: No bake sales?

Here comes the Abominable Federal Regulator to smash up our fine holiday scene.

You may have read recently about Congress passing a nutrition bill that gives a federal agency the power to limit bake sales and other school-sponsored fundraisers in which foods deemed unhealthy are sold. Continue reading “Robert Nelson: No bake sales?”

Press Releases – News Room – Johanns: No Cap-and-Trade Gimmicks

Sen. Mike Johanns today introduced legislation that would prevent cap-and-trade from being added to a House-Senate Conference bill if previous action has not been taken in the Senate. This means that 67 Senators would have to vote to allow cap and trade to become law without having debated it in the Senate. Media reports indicate that some in the Majority are publicly contemplating trying to pass cap-and-trade by attaching it to a conference report during a lame duck session. This legislation would make such a move very difficult.

THANK You Senator Johanns for introducing this important legislation.  2/3rd Vote, let it stand or fall!

Okay!

A couple thinks I have been thinking about.

According to this website, My insured American family will pay $368 this year to pay for the medical expenses of the uninsured.

But if H.R. 3962 The Affordable Health Care for America Act passes I will be paying $5,002.87. Isn’t that a higher expense on me?

That’s an increase of 1,259.48% increase over my current cost.

yeah I’m gonna have to say that this is a bad idea. officially if I haven’t stated that position before.

Do Some Research

Joe Morton of the Omaha World-Herald did a story on Congressman Lee Terry about healthcare reform he introduced SUH Act in 2009(Simple Universal Health Care Act of 2009 H.R. 3937).  People (ie United for Change) should do some research before they start paying for RoboCalls.  They are also making calls in 10 other districts.

Maybe I’ll will call this organization & see how they like it.

In response

I have my own blog, & I’ll respond to your post with my own entry 😛

Heineman Watch: 1,795 Days and Still No Health Care Agenda

Their entry can be read here.

Governor Heineman of Nebraska injected himself into the ‘national’ debate on health care reform, because as the Chief Executive of our state, it’s his job to look out for the best interests of Nebraska.  If there are going to be more people added to the state funded health care plans(medicaid & such), we(taxpayers in Nebraska) are going to have to put more of their cost out for those people.  He has a right to say NO, I will not accept that.  Just like the 60+ % of Nebraskans who don’t want this current version from Congress of Health Care Reform.

He did the right thing.  The Government(in this instance a insurance company per se) can NOT directly control the cost of healthcare on it’s own.  It can determine what it will pay, & then the private, non-profit, & not-for profit medical providers can say, uh, we aren’t going to accept your form of insurance.  That would be bad for people on medicaid & other state funded program.s

My name is Vernon J & I approved this blog entry.

Hello, I’d like my Congress to read the bill

Democrats Kill Amendment Requiring Bill To Be Fully Written Before a Vote

Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee killed an amendment proposed by Sen. Jim Bunning that would have required the committee to have the legislative language of its health care bill evaluated by the Congressional Budget Office before voting on it.
