Good Morning & Happy Wednesday Readers,
It appears that Omaha & MECA are trying to pull the wool over our eyes about loses to the Civic center.
It seems that MECA Omaha could take some of that $1.19 million from operating the three venues & cover the cost of the Civic.
That is what a good steward of the taxpayer’s would do.
I have an e-mail out & will update the posts, when I get responses from the parties contacted.
The e-mails are below

Vernon: I learned this morning from Acting finance director, Al Herenk, that there are $250,000 budgeted for 2014 to cover the anticipated costs through June, 2014, when the facility will close and he stated (and will state publicly today at the public hearing) that he thinks that number should cover the costs. Coincidentally, that is the current number budgeted with MECA. Chris

Good morning Vernon, Thank you for contacting MECA. If you look under the "About" us tab on our website, you will find information on the MECA Board meetings. We post the meeting dates one week before the meeting and the agenda is posted typically 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Sincerely, Kristi Andersen Kristi Andersen Director of Communication
Good Morning & Happy Wednesday Chris(Chris.Jerram@ci.Omaha.NE.US),
I don’t think the City of Omaha should agree to this new contract. We do NOT need to be on the hook for any cost overruns with the MECA agencies. I know we have agreed to a certain percentage already, we should not increase that percentage. It should be decreased.

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday Kristi,
I was just on MECA;s website. I’m looking at the newsroom page, http://www.omahameca.com/Information/NewsAnnouncements.aspx
Why does it not include the date/times of the board meetings?
Metro includes that information on their website. http://ometro.com/corporate/board-of-directors, & http://www.ometro.com/news/board-meetings
E-mail to Paul (City attorney) & Johnny (writer for the paper).
Good Morning Paul(Paul.Kratz@ci.Omaha.NE.US) & Johnny (Johnny.Perez@OWH.com),
Happy Wednesday, isn’t it a great day in Omaha?
So I was reading Paul’s story about the new agreement that is coming between the City & MECA.
I just have one question. What is the current portion of the costs that Omaha covers.
Is it a percentage, is it a flat dollar amount.
Thanks.
