The word of the day is abrogate which means to abolish by authoritative action : annul.  Just like I abrogate the maybe out of a portion of this blog post.

Stay Classy Ladies

From my buddy Nikki Chizek. “dear skanky girls, learn the difference between sexy and slutty. When your showing cleavage, midrif, and legs, your showing too much. Leave something to the imaginiation. Whatever happened to being sexy and classy.”

As my friend Jon Green has told me twice in the last month. Stay Classy Vernon J, Stay Classy.

Stay Classy ladies, Stay Classy!!!!

Government Shutdown, that’s good!

House Republicans readies short-term bill to prevent government shutdown. http://bit.ly/eZhuLP I think last time we had one, there was a balanced budget.

The 1995 “shutdown” of the United States federal government was the result of a conflict between Democratic President Clinton and the Republican-controlled Congress over funding for Medicare, education, the environment and public health. It took place after Clinton vetoed the spending bill which Congress sent him. Thereupon, the Federal government of the United States put non-essential government workers on furlough and suspended non-essential services from November 14 through November 19, 1995 and from December 16, 1995 to January 6, 1996 (see budget crisis). The major players were President Bill Clinton and the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich.

According to data from the Congressional Budget Office the U.S. Budget had more revenues than outlays in MCMXCVIII.  It’s MMXI, I see no reason why this isn’t possible today. Just the facts.

SHUT IT DOWN!!!!

A couple more ideas to balance the budget(I have not researched this proposals), they are biased & I can NOT vouch for their merits. http://blogs.reuters.com/james-pethokoukis/2010/11/15/balance-the-u-s-budget-it-did-it-in-under-a-minute/ & http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2010/10/how-to-cut-343-billion-from-the-federal-budget

What is the Chairman doing?

So on Saturday 04/02/V3.1 around 15:55 I went to

to see The Adjustment Bureau.  It was a movie I had wanted to go see, YES it was released on Friday 03/04/V3.1.  I was in Washington, D.C. that weekend.  If I was making excuses, that would be it.  My name is Vernon J & I DON’T make excuses.  I didn’t go see it opening weekend.

It was a GREAT movie, very interesting.  You should go see it or get it on DVD when it comes out. It’ll be in the Omaha Area until at least Thursday 04/07/V3.1 in 6 convenient locations. In the Washington, D.C. metro area it is in 10 convenient locations.

Great Movie, I recommend it.

I could live…to be fun.

“I could live without sprinkles, but why would I want to?” he asked. “They’re cupcakes. They’re supposed to be fun.”

Colorless Food? We Blanch

By GARDINER HARRIS

WASHINGTON — Without the artificial coloring FD&C Yellow No. 6, Cheetos Crunchy Cheese Flavored Snacks would look like the shriveled larvae of a large insect. Not surprisingly, in taste tests, people derived little pleasure from eating them.

Their fingers did not turn orange. And their brains did not register much cheese flavor, even though the Cheetos tasted just as they did with food coloring.

“People ranked the taste as bland and said that they weren’t much fun to eat,” said Brian Wansink, a professor at Cornell University and director of the university’s Food and Brand Lab. Continue reading “I could live…to be fun.”
