Has the City Council ever weighed in on a ballot issue that will have a change throughout the state?

Bicycle & Walking Coordinator
This is a letter I @Jean_Stothert sent to organizations supporting Omaha’s Bike-Pedestrian Coordinator position and the feedback the we are taking a step backwards:
Our commitment to safe transportation for everyone has never been limited to just one person and it won’t be now.
Since it was created four years ago, the bike-pedestrian coordinator’s salary has been paid primarily with private funding. As that money runs out, and the donors are not renewing their financial support, the position will be eliminated, but our commitment to safe, accessible multi-modal transportation will in fact, be expanded.
my take As a non-car owner. I’m clearly for the multi-modal transportation. As a taxpayer, I’m for government reducing costs, unnecessary services, eliminating duplicated services. I’m glad that Carlos was here to facilitate change. But the ALAC is a better use of time, money, & other resources. A position will be eliminated, but will there be a vacuum in that area, no. I know Julie & she will do a great job being chair of this committee.
I also ride from/to 108th & Q to midtown/downtown. We are lacking east/west trails, but that is something we as riders know about.
We Don’t Coast in Omaha. There are too many hills.

I’ll give you a good example, Yesterday the Omaha City Council passed a budget with NO tax increases for us. You think that would be the lead story in the locality, but it wasn’t. This issues effects all the citizens of the area your business is located in. These things matter, report them first. Stay OUT of people’s personal lives.
The word of the day is pittance which is a small amount or share.
So I don’t currently have any weekend plans and I think I’m okay with that. The usually will happen, you know laundry tomorrow. Napping tomorrow, Friday, and a low possibility on Saturday.

Today is Tuesday 07/09/V3.4 & we are 11 months away from my Birthday.
So yesterday was a good day.
We are going to do some grocery shoppy after work today. Then we get into the coulds, all the stuff I could do. Which is greater than the stuff I will do.
I am Number 1 today. I left my badge in my pants, so I’m visitor number 1.
The word of the day is layette, which is an outfit if clothing, bedding, etc., for a newborn baby.

Congratulations on winning re-election
I talked to Franklin, Amy, and Rich about having a monthly/quarter meeting in the evening for the Omaha City Council.
I see that agenda item 23 is to continue to hold their meetings at 14.00 on Tuesday of each week, unless otherwise designated.
I would like you to amend that motion to make the 3rd Tuesday of every month an evening meeting. It could be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. I’m flexible (hint-hint).
Thanks, as per my usual notification. I will be in contact with issues that I feel are important and if you have evening meetings I will also be there.

Today is Monday April 04/01/V3.3 & it is the dark of the evening until the morn.
So far Jim has pulled an April Fool’s joke on me. Jim is a liar, but he is still a good guy. As soon as he … then I’ll be doing my thing.
I have to go to work this morning, not for the entire day. It is just 1/2 a day at the party office. If anyone needs anything, I’m here.
I’m also being selective with what posts I put on twitter today. No/limited shares from foursquare. I’m nearing the 100,000 post & want everyone of them to count. I have XLV to go, so going to make them count. You will see the 99,990 though 100,000 celebrated with their own blog post. (if I can remember).
The word of the day is ha-ha, which is sunk fence. Well I learned something new. I thought ha-ha was something you typed when you were telling a joke.

We do have a choice to make & I hope that choice will be to go out and vote. You can go back and select another candidate of your choosing. I knew who I was voting for in 2 out 3 of the elections. There is a Omaha Public School board meeting tonight at 18.00. Be there or be square.
The microwave is SO OLD, it has a dial & you have to press the start button. YES I just turned the dial & was like the microwave isn’t working. Clearly I had no clue how that worked.

It will continue to happen,

We have time, WE HAVE TIME!
Today is Wednesday 11/07/V3.3 & it is a brand new day in America.
As you know there was an election last night. I voted for Willard & Erica, those two individuals lost their elections. BUT everyone else I voted for won. I voted AGAINST term limits & voted FOR the other 3 amendments to the Nebraska Constitution. YES I’m disappointed that Barack Obama won the Presidency again.
This is how I feel about our future.
It scares me to think that my kids, your kids, will inherit debt. After the Revolutionary War & Civil war. They raised taxes to pay that debt. Everyone did their part. None of this ‘special classes’ we were America.
If you get a chance to watch I.O.U.S.A. The most important issue to me in ANY election is fiscal responsibility by the Government, local, state, & federal level. We need to raise taxes & cut spending. So we move on to MMXIII. There is an election in Omaha for the City Council & Mayor. Get out there and help support the candidate that you think will help Omaha.

I think if we had that power we would see less stupid stuff. YES I’m sure there is one or two people who would delete some of my posts. BUT as I would have that power as well, it would be okay.
So tomorrow I get bonus work at the City, I’m also volunteering with The Salvation Army to help with Christmas Sign-up. They offered overtime at First Data, but I don’t want to work overtime on Saturday. I want to enjoy my day off.
So now I get in the kitchen and wash dishes,

Omaha City Council Bad Idea
The Omaha City Council has voted to approve that store in the Dundee Neighborhood.
Well they got it right on the Tuesday 08/31/V3/1!!! which means when they voted today, they got it wrong.
Well I hope CVS builds lots & lots of stores, becasue I won’t them to get ‘too big to fail’ & then fail.
My Council City Member stood strong, he didn’t change his mind.
I need to send him a thank you not.
