Some Times

There are times we can do stuff, there are times we can’t do stuff.

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday,

I did and I didn’t. I’m okay with that, as I didn’t wash dishes. I did read though.

Today is Tuesday 12/03/V3.4 & it is the Central Omaha TAA Meeting. Central Omaha Transit Alternatives Analysis Show Omaha Transit Matters.

Speaking of Transit Alternatives our friends from the east (Cincinnati) is trying to build a street car.  Streetcar – Streetcar I’ll let you read and decide on how this project is for the city.

I can tell you that any more projects for the City of Omaha should only consist of expansion of bus routes. An hour or two on Sunday’s. There should be no infrastructure changes.

The word of the day is pokelogan which is marshy or stagnant water that has branched off from a stream or lake.

So tonight is also a good night for pint night. So you should come. Team Vernon J will be there about 1700.

Response to an Issue

How do you respond to an issue, How soon do you respond to an issue, How often do you respond to an issue?

My official response without reading the article was:

Now I didn’t read the article without responding, I still haven’t read it. I don’t want to give them any additional stats for that story. I’m guessing that Marty went though the proper channels to be approved to carry a weapon.

NOW KETV has posted and asked about your thoughts on facebook. Capture As you can see there are 82 comments, there have been 8 added since I first noticed this.

NOW I’m of the camp that says the media should use the word controversial in any story. The readers/viewers should be able to form their own opinions about the issue. When you use the C world, you are putting that thought in their mind.

I respond to issues privately and publicly in 2 different manners. Once you publish or talk to someone about the issue, your feelings are out there. BUT in the privacy or your own mind or home, you can respond. What is wrong with that person.

Before I respond publicly, the 1st question I ask myself is. Is my life affected by the issue, if that answer is NO. Then I don’t comment on it publicly, cause no one actually cares what I think. IF they want to know they will ask me.

So do us a favor, take a moment. Think before you respond.

I do eat breakfast every morning, I’ve ate breakfast at Village Inn. But this is Breakfast at/from Village Inn with you.

Apparently in this crazy world we leave in. Defined Contribution Retirement Plans don’t work. For a ‘list of reasons’, I’m waiting for an e-mail of reasons.

To the last penny

I was going to do this post on my way to the movies. I didn’t go to the movies, I had a change of plans.

Today is Tuesday 03/26/V3.3 & it is a great day.

I didn’t go see the movie, due to commitments to work. That I need to go to Place 4121 & Place 7007. I had to get things done. So instead of watching a movie, I took a nap. That’s how Vernon J gets things done.

So apparently Barack Obama is proud of the fact that he is the first President of the United States of America to say ‘Say Same Sex Couples Should Be Able to Get Married. He is also the first President of the United States of America to not present a budget when he is required too on at least 4 occasions. So look at this picture.

The word of the day is wrest which is to take away by force.

So I went to Definitive Vision to get my correction lenses looked at, they are rubbing on the back of my ear & need to be adjusted. They were closed until 13.30, but those are not their posted hours. I’m pretty disappointed in that behavior. Also my Sprint phone had a terrible time connecting to foursquare & ow.ly posting service.

I’ve also figured out when my new shift will be. Starting Sunday, 06/03 I’ll be working 06.00 to 15.30 Saturday – Thursday. I wanted morning shift, so I can go to my other two jobs. They had an 11:00 to 7:30 shift, but that would’ve screwed up my ability to work my 2nd & 3rd jobs.

Getting off at 15.30 actually helps, I can get to the other office by 17.00 & work till till 20.00 or 21.00. But first I get though VIII wekks of training which runs from 09.00 to 15.30. 1st shift, I hope you’ll welcome me back with open arms. We can do this.

Tonight’s Discussion

There is a report from a newspaper that Shamrock Development is planning to build a project at 10th & Capitol(northwest corner). I do not support this in the published report.

A. I’ve e-mailed Mike of Shamrock Development
B. I’m waiting for a response, I guess he doesn’t work evenings.

This is a bad idea for a couple reasons.

I. The City of Omaha doesn’t need to give another government entity $1,400,000.
II. The TIF is a bad idea, ALWAYS is.
III. Giving up the parking lot for the MECA arena, Convention Center, and Stadium is a bad idea.
IV. There is a perfectly fine lot at 14th & Dodge that is willing to accept this kind of developmental in downtown.

More legal discussion

The girl from York, NE who robbed a bank, stole a car & bragged about it on YouTube. She pleaded NOT GUILTY to those crimes. How can this happen time & time again, the disappointment is very high.  I think I shouldn’t did that whole law school thing when I was going to graduate in MMIII. I’d be a lawyer right now, fighting on the side of taxpayers and common sense.

Okay, that’s it for now. I’m done dissecting the media & legal system FOR NOW!

All I Wanna Do

Good Morning & Happy Friday,

All I wanna do is: make my bed, shower, eat, breakfast, read the news on the 1st vote in the House of Representatives for the 113th Congress, blog, & DANCE!!!!

Today is Friday 0`1/04/V3.2 & it is my 2nd to last shift of work this week.

I had a great day off yesterday. The doctor game me some Naproxen, my wrist is feeling better today.

After I got home, I had lunch and did laundry. I watched some movies (Happy Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I & II, and Training Day. I watched CBS’s primetime line up. I actually watched Two and a Half Men, it appears they have improved the familyness of that show. I haven’t watched since BEFORE Charlie was an idiot and got himself fired. I finished all but the last page of the January MMXIII Popular Science magazine.

YES I read ALOT!

I went to bed between 02.00 & 02.30 today, I don’t wanna give away all my secrets. I got up between 09.30 & 10.00, my alarm went off at 10.28. That’s how I roll I don’t need no stinking alarm clock, my body know that it is almost #dance time & needs to get started.

Oh that twitter linked you posted less than 57 mins ago isn’t on your main timeline? You must actually use twitter. I do & I appreciate my 957 followers for engaging me in conversation. I have good conversations on that social network medium. In the last XII hours I’ve been mentioned by Matt Kenseth & Academy of Country Music Awards which have a combined total of 207,082 followers. YOU know it is my 2nd or 3rd favorite one. OF course my favorite is Vernon-J.com & associated subdomains.

Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, & Months

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday,

We have time, WE HAVE TIME!

Today is Wednesday 11/07/V3.3 & it is a brand new day in America.

As you know there was an election last night. I voted for Willard & Erica, those two individuals lost their elections. BUT everyone else I voted for won. I voted AGAINST term limits & voted FOR the other 3 amendments to the Nebraska Constitution. YES I’m disappointed that Barack Obama won the Presidency again.

This is how I feel about our future.

It scares me to think that my kids, your kids, will inherit debt. After the Revolutionary War & Civil war. They raised taxes to pay that debt. Everyone did their part. None of this ‘special classes’ we were America.

If you get a chance to watch I.O.U.S.A. The most important issue to me in ANY election is fiscal responsibility by the Government, local, state, & federal level. We need to raise taxes & cut spending. So we move on to MMXIII. There is an election in Omaha for the City Council & Mayor. Get out there and help support the candidate that you think will help Omaha.

I think if we had that power we would see less stupid stuff. YES I’m sure there is one or two people who would delete some of my posts. BUT as I would have that power as well, it would be okay.

So tomorrow I get bonus work at the City, I’m also volunteering with The Salvation Army to help with Christmas Sign-up. They offered overtime at First Data, but I don’t want to work overtime on Saturday. I want to enjoy my day off.

So now I get in the kitchen and wash dishes,
tomorrow I do laundry.

Oh, 7% is to high is it?

President Mulligan of the Omaha City Council if 7% is high enough to vote on. Don’t lower it to 3.5% to just pass it by a CC vote. Give it to the people of the City of Omaha to vote on.

We should have a say in this new tax.

Are you afraid that we just might say no, cause it is a ridicioulous idea?

We don’t understand

Good Morning & Happy Friday,

You remember that time, my parent’s (older people) didn’t understand you?

Today is Friday 09/21/V3.3 & it is the most glorious FNP this month.

Please call your mom & dad, inform them you don’t understand. Apparently Lamarr is chill. Something the kids are saying nowadays. I don’t know what chill is, unless it is about 10 degrees outside, or I just took something out of the fridge or freezer. We are getting so much wiser every day.

I don’t have to work a full shift tomorrow. I have to work from 07.00 to 10.00, but that’s just nothing. Cause by time I’m done, most people still won’t be up. Plus it is overtime, so they will be paying me what I’m almost worth.

I almost didn’t make it yesterday, but I got some caffeine & some pizza in me.

I also haven’t eaten breakfast yet this morning, so if this post seems kinda grouchy, that is why.

The word of the day is strepitous which is boisterous; noisy. I know a little bit about being strepitous.

So right now I’m doing laundry right now. Don’t you hate it when the door doesn’t close, that add’s I don’t XV mins to the time I need to be here. UGH!

Okay, I’m over that.

I’ve seen a petition at a local establishment talking about the potential smoking ban. Vernon @ Tobacco and Phones 4 less – foursquare. I’ve signed it & I hope you’ll sign it. Also don’t forget to write your City Council Member, petitions are fine. YOU need to do more though, because 500 signatures are just 500 people who happened to be somewhere at some moment in the past. To make your voice heard, make sure your elected officials know who the heck you are.

PUT a name to that 1 constituent. YES I’m active & everyone who represents me know who the heck I am. You can  almost be like me, but not too much. We don’t want to get into too much trouble, OR do we?

I found out this morning you know when I got up during the 04.00 hour, while you were still sleeping. Did you miss that some man walked into Denny’s after he got shot, no of course you didn’t. I was there for the live coverage from the van to twitter to the scene. I wish I wouldn’t have saw it live, I do hope Justice is Served in this case.

I went off on a tangent there.

Crescent Moon is having an eating contest this weekend. They are doing a Bravarian Pretzel & Sausage eating contest. BOTH are happening at 19.00 so I don’t think I can do both. BUT you know I am the 2010, 2011, & 2012 Santa Lucia Festival Cannoli Eating Champion. I am also the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium Watermelon Eating Champion (1 of 2) so I will be there to add to my collection. Well I’ll be competing, I don’t want to make it seem like I’m already the winner, but I am 4 – 0 in these things. You gotta go with the proven records.

I also need to clean, you know vacuum my car & stuff.
