Toxic Masculinity

It isn’t a science based diagnosis in the DSM IV. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/women-who-stray/201901/psychologists-issue-controversial-report-masculinity

I’m not a psychologist, I’ve never peer-reviewed an article to be published in any manual.

But I urge caution in applying labels to events or people that can damage their character or your character. In my 14,667/7727 days the content of someone’s character is all that matters.

I don’t besmirch my character & I don’t tolerate you besmirching my character either.

But YOU do YOU!!

2019 & Beyond

I need to go on a cruise.

Giant new Carnival ship coming in 2020 will have a roller coaster. Really https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2018/12/13/carnival-cruise-line-plans-roller-coaster-new-ship-mardi-gras/2298401002/

New Rule

New #Running Rule,

If Vernon J is every being chased by an alien beast, he isn’t going to encourage the alien beast to ‘come on’, ‘come at me bro’, or whatever similar phase encourages the beast to attack me.

I’m going to run like I’m late.

Watching I am Number 4 & John is screaming ‘come on’.

Start with a Bang

Well …

Let”s just say we started 2018 with a bang.

I’m officially an operating partner with QSR,

This means I have demonstrated a  though business knowledge and achieved those for the 4th quarter of the year.

No additional requirements, but I just got to keep doing a pretty darn good job.

Thanks.

Vernon J’s YIR

Vernon J’s Year – In – Review.

2017 was a great year.

Started off right where I ended. In Lincoln, Nebraska.

Met new people. 1000’s, but the ones I remember are Emily, Kelly, Ralph.

There was laughs, cries, and shenanigans. I would like to take responsibility for all of them.

We feel short in our ultimate goal.

I didn’t get to a NASCAR race, or go on a 2 day away from Nebraska trip. So you know those are goals for 2018 that can be accomplished sans me.

I give this year a A-.

I look forward to what we can accomplish in MMXVIII together.

Dating … In Valid

I saw this …

Dating

No my 1st Official Response was ‘have you asked out a guy?’

Now at this point I thought that I would stay out of this.

As you can see, before I even posted that I had changed my mind.

Now the original poster (I’m protecting their identity) responded this –

My second response was dating is hard because it is the hardest thing you will ever do.

To get someone to say, yes I did like you when we did X. Let’s do X to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Nth power.

So now since this person isn’t willing to take the initiative to ask a guy out, then I ain’t to worried about her not dating.

YES asking someone out is hard work, the last time I did it (sometime this month, in person) it was hard. NOW it didn’t work out, but I still asked her. (1 person knew before, 3 people know now).

Presser – CFSR DHHS

My prepared notes, that I left at home.

Hello,

My name is Vernon J & I spent my juvenile and teenage years in foster care.,

As a juvenile I was removed from my father’s house due to neglect.

I was then reunited with my mother and due to abuse was returned to the foster care system at age 15.

IF it wasn’t for foster care, I wouldn’t be here today.  I’m thankful for my great foster parents, good social work staff, and other caring individuals throughout my life.

I’m currently the General Manager of store for a National Chain. As a foster child you can be successful. This is why I’m happy to serve the children, stakeholders, and citizens of Nebraska though the Children’s Commission and Commission for the Protection of Children.

We can make everybody that has contact with DHHS a successful outcome. IF that is reunification, adoption, or alternative permanent solution. I’m happy to do my part to contribute to those success outcomes.

YES the are challenges, but we have a GREAT Opportunities to meet those challenges head on.

I look forward to seeing the continued movement though the PIP at the Department over weeks, months, and years going forward.

Thank YOU.

What: Nebraska DHHS PIP Kick-off Event
When: Tomorrow 13:00 to 15:30
Where: The Marriott Cornhusker Hotel – Lancaster Ballroom
Why: Discuss the CFSR & Program Improvement Plan.

As a former Youth in Foster care & Board Member of the Nebraska Children’s Commission & Commission for the Protection of Children I’m happy to speak about my experience.

IF you don’t know my story, I went to foster care twice in my life, (before 1st grade & after 15).

will post my prepared notes later.
