Looks good to me

So I’m back in North Platte & heading west on E. 4th St.

I see Al’s Smokehouse has a lunch special(11 to 2) for $5.99.

After carefully filling the car’s tank, I head back west.

I had a pulled pork sammich, round-up beans, & the cheesy jalapeno potatoes.

I didn’t go wrong with this local joint.

The bag is pack & the socks are on

Today is Tuesday 05/03/V3.1 & its the second day of the work week.

I say the bag is packed because I’m heading to North Platte today, gonna ride I-80 like its just sitting there. I’ll be back on Thursday Omaha, so behave yourself.

I finalized my postcard choice, maybe if you are lucky, or I have you address you will get one.  haha. My address is at the bottom of the site, & the mailbox is always waiting to accept.

Good breakfast this morning & the dishes are all clean.

The word of the day is purlieu and it means A place where one may range at large; confines or bounds.

Have a GREAT day!!!

The famous York, NE – Iron Skillet

By famous, I mean I saw the sign when I was coming home & couldn’t find the restaurant.

Its on the SOUTH side of I-80 inside the PETRO Stopping Center. There is also a Baskin Robbins, which we don’t have in The Big O!.

They have 72oz Wide Load Challenge. You know LOTS of food, to be consumed in a small window. Its beef so I won’t be gettin on The Wall of Fame.

I order the Italian Sausage with Pasta dish(not the entire name).

A whole lotta 8

Get on I-80 to York, NE;

Then go US – 83 to a left turn;

Then take NE – 8 for 24 miles to Superior, NE.

3 roads of 8 & 3 hours later I have arrived in The Victorian Capital of the World.

Out there

Today is Tuesday 04/19/V3.1 Its cold out there.

I plan to go to Kearney, NE today – done.

There may also be a baseball game, if it doesn’t rain.

I’m off to Omaha.

Nebraska isn’t flat

I’ve heard it before from vistors to Nebraska.  Nebraska is flat.

Well I’m here to say that it isn’t flat.

I had the joy of driving US 83 today.

This is one of the hilliest roads I’ve driven in the last two months.

I’m here to prove that Nebraska isn’t flat.

I also had the Cheesy Corn(contains bacon) & the Red Beans and Rice. This is America I don’t have to chose. 🙂

Happy Monday from 69101

Today is Monday 04/18/V3.1 & we’re coming to you from North Platte, NE.

I’m out here working with our partners, heading to McCook, NE for a meeting at 13:00.

Going to head out & get some breakfast.  I had a GREAT Weekend, Circque du Soliel was wonderful. Sunday was a good day too in Grand Island, NE

I’m excited for this week, I’ll be back in the 681V1 on Tuesday.  Please behave yourself 🙂

I have Friday off, so if you’re looking for someone to do something with.  You know how to reach me.

The word of the day is corybantic which means Frenzied; agitated; unrestrained.

Have a wonderful week, & IF you wanted to call me tonight (402) 516-4401 I would take your call.

Vernon J out.

Tommy’s Club

image

It was told to me that Tommy’s was a good place to eat. I took that advice & had a Tommy’s Club.

I’m currently eating a piece of Fruits of the Forest.

It was a good recommendation, the special was All You Can Eat Chicken.

I had a good time in Grand Island. Passed out some flyers & business cards. I even got to talk about SNAP on 1011 KOLNKGIN News.

Vernon J’s signing off from Room 134.

What I’ve learned so far.

Let’s say I’ve been in Grand Island, NE for about 30 mins or so.

I’ve learned that parking is NOT  a problem in downtown Grand Island.

You can park WHEREVER you want, lots of room.

Of course parking at St. Mary’s on a Sunday is impossible.

But I parked 1 block NW of St. Mary’s.  Wee we are GOOD!!!!!
