The Nebraska Governor’s Race

The following is a post from Gerard Harbison visit his blog The Right Wing Professor’s blog  posted on Leavenworth St. via the comment section. The setup that I HATE!!!

OK, here’s a sanctimonious little lecture for you all.

I’ve known Mike Foley for around 15 years. I’ve worked with him on a few issues. while I’ve disagreed with him on a couple of things, I think he’s an extraordinary politician and human being; hard-working, ethical, principled.

I met Pete Ricketts once. I liked him. His help on the Nebraska Civil Rights Initiative was invaluable, and not necessarily popular with the establishment. I know about his politics and his business dealings, and I find them admirable. (He’s also the richest guy I’ve ever met, except perhaps for Bono)

I have never met Charlie Janssen, but I’ve gone out of my way to defend him online. I’ve really liked the way he’s stepped up in the legislature to take on issues that are anathema to the LIncoln/Omaha elite.

And I don’t know Beau McCoy at all, but that’s probably my fault for not paying attention.

Point is, any one of these would be an excellent governor, and vastly superior to any democrat alternative. I know nothing bad about any of them, and will whole-heartedly support any one of them in the general election. I have a personal preference, based partly on better acquaintance, but I’m not interested in dragging any of them down. If we’re going to compete, let’s do so by saying what’s good about our own candidate, and not by denigrating the others; ultimately, that hurts us in the November election.

We have an opportunity to have a strong slate of candidates running for Governor. The day after the primary election we need to stand together behind our candidate.

Also it is kinda hard to run a campaign without a website.

As of the current time I haven’t decided who will get my vote in May. The best person for the job will get my bubble.

Check with Me

Good Morning & Happy Sunday,

I have to check my own calendar to see if anyone RSVP’d for Tennis with Vernon J.

Today is Sunday 09/09/V3.4 & it is a good day to start off on the right foot. Who’s with me?

Well I didn’t get home last night, I’m also walking this morning butthere’s no other Nicole. My friend and I hung out. Left the bike at work & am walking in.

Got home ~0030 or so. In bed by 0115, up at 0343. #ReporterLife? Maybe this walk will keep that energy level up until. After Tennis.

The word of the day is chambray a fine cloth of cotton, silk, or linen, commonly of plain weave with a colors warp and white weft. I think there is a spelling mistake from Dictionary.comCapture so I checked & there is no spelling mistake.

Its FRENCH!

After I get home, I’ll be making spaghetti, washing dishes, eating said spaghetti. Then relax and prepare for hUmPdAY! Whatcha got going on, or as ‘the kids’ saytext NowADays wyd?

NOT the one for me.

I don’t know if John Hodgson will see this, but whatever happened or privacy settings are in effect. I’ll probably just post this too my blog, JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS!!!

Me & Jim Gerner were hanging out at The Crescent Moon Alehouse on Friday.

I made the error of saying that I probably could marry a lady and cheer for the #UNL #Football team. We looked at the issue and discussed the kinda lady that it would take for me to do that. We came to the conclusion that there is pretty much NOT 1, LADY ALIVE, (we did name names and particular circumstances, but won’t go into that online) that would get me to root for them.

I don’t know Katrina as well as myself(didn’t know she had a new boyfriend), but if she is as strong as I thing someone likes her needs/wants to be. No guy is going to make her cheer for something (as unimportant as a sportsteam) that she doesn’t want to.

Root, Root, Root for our Home Team, or team that we can support Carolina Hurricanes that we’ll probably never see.
