‘What lion?’

As social media exploded with outrage this week at the killing of Cecil the lion, the untimely passing of the celebrated predator at the hands of an American dentist went largely unnoticed in the animal’s native Zimbabwe.

Sometimes REAL problems exist. Killing a lion isn’t one of them.

355+ people getting killed by animals is 355+ of them.

Time to Celebrate?

It’s been #7Days.

Team #VernonJ has reason to celebrate.
We also got all of our laundry washed, dried, ironed, & put away yesterday.

It’s almost like the weekend wants to come a day early for us. BUT we all know that the weekend starts on Thursday.

But we certainly can call the #FNP up early.

So Happy #FNP everyone.

Police: Woman hit snoring boyfriend with pry bar

Look in the corner of her eye man. Do you see it? I don’t like snoring, but I’ve never hit one of my girlfriends with a pry bar. Also none of my girlfriends have never snored, so I got that going for me.

There also isn’t that thing in the corner of my eye.

Report IT

“Calling the suspect or the parents during that (investigative) process can jeopardize the child’s safety — especially if that parent is a suspect,” said Gene Klein, the head of Omaha’s Project Harmony. “Law enforcement want to be the ones talking to parents first. They’re still in an unsafe environment until that gets dealt with.”

As a child of abuse (living in Michigan) at the time. The first call should be to authorities.

Michigan would call the child & do an on phone investigation. (This was prior to 1996).

Where do you think the call was made too?

Who do you think was there doing the call?

Supreme Court rules states must allow same-sex marriage – CNNPolitics.com

But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it.”

“If you are among the many Americans—of whatever sexual orientation—who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today’s decision. Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal,” he wrote. “Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits. But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it.”

“Insensitivity – intentional or perceived”

” Judgment is the currency of honesty,” said Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho. “Insensitivity – intentional or perceived – is both unacceptable and inconsistent with our policies, but more importantly with our expectation of common sense behavior that elevates the dignity and humanity of all, beginning with children.”

Perceived is someone’s  perception.

The Principal shouldn’t be held liable for other people’s feelings.

It’s too bad he has been fired.

Well Unions

“Here is another fact these unions will not discuss: Most of the dues collected by AFSCME and the SEIU from union members in Texas are used to fund national policy campaigns and other liberal initiatives that the majority of union members in Texas strongly oppose,” Olsen testified.

When your former executive director opposes what you’re doing. You might be wrong.

It’s Been Done

Good Job Dan of @GravityPymts on making a HUGE step in a direction.

But he’s doing more than just raising his lowest-paid employees’ wages by a couple of dollars per hour. All of his employees, even the ones lowest on the corporate ladder, will receive at least $70,000 per year, a salary hike he plans to roll in over three years.  Link to Scripps Media story.

I can’t guarantee that this will be a trend or continue. I can probably guarantee that it won’t.
