I embrace with great satisfaction the opportunity which now presents itself

of congratulating you on the present favorable prospects of our public

affairs. The recent accession of the important state of North Carolina to

the Constitution of the United States (of which official information has

been received), the rising credit and respectability of our country, the

general and increasing good will toward the government of the Union, and

the concord, peace, and plenty with which we are blessed are circumstances

State of the Union on this day

Mr. President, Mr. Speaker, members of the 104th Congress, my fellow Americans: Again we are here in the sanctuary of democracy, and once again, our democracy has spoken. So let me begin by congratulating all of you here in the 104th Congress, and congratulating you, Mr. Speaker.

If we agree on nothing else tonight, we must agree that the American people certainly voted for change in 1992 and in 1994. And as I look out at you, I know how some of you must have felt in 1992. It’s History

He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United StateHe shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.

State of the Union Speech!!

The good stuff is currently on the website, I am watching Veronica Mars so I won’t really update on the speech.  I am all about reading the text, and the policies.

 

I think the ‘No Child Left Behind Act’ isn’t that great.  I have jumped on the private school bandwagon.  Even though most of them are religious, except for the kind nennafurr worked at.
