Time Penalty for Riding

I cam accross this comment in a fairly popular website. I disagree with that statement, hope I made some valid points.

Actually, relying on a bike rather than a car is rather expensive. You’re far more vulnerable to serious injury in an accident. You are seriously limited in your mobility, limiting your shopping and employment choices, both which have a serious economic penalty. not tomention the time penalty. As far as recreation nothing wrong with it, but for most it is an obsolete mode of travel.</i>

That’s just STUPID, but I won’t say that, because I don’t know you.

If you get in an accident on a back, your injury & death potential are less.  http://neptune.spacebears.com/opine/helmets.html, that’s not a independent website proving that.  Its just kittens purring.

Limited in mobility, limiting your shopping & employment choices. NOT true, you can live in the region you work & shop.  In addition you can supplemental your travel with Public Transportation, Cab, or ZipCar or similar method.

The personal economic impact is actually better for the individual.  No wasted money on interest on car loans. NO to little reoccurring car insurance. Public Transportation can be reimbursed by employers and/or tax benefits.

There is NO time penalty, we all have 24 hours a day.  You chose to spend them how you want.  You plan your trips out.
