Girl, 14, charged with felony after throwing pretzels, shoe at officers

— A 14-year-old girl faces a felony charge after throwing a bag of pretzels at a police sergeant and twice throwing a shoe at an officer, according to a recently released police report.
Beth Maynard, the alleged pretzel-and-shoe thrower, was one of several patients at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute who officers were watching Thursday night. It was not clear on Monday why she was in the hospital.

Congress to the rescue

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Sen. Charles Schumer on Sunday unveiled a proposal aimed at giving fans a better chance to buy hot concert tickets at face value before ticket resellers scoop them up and raise the prices.
The proposed legislation would set a two-day waiting period from when tickets go on sale through normal channels before a ticket reseller can buy the tickets to put on the secondary market, Schumer, a New York Democrat, said in a statement.
